EN 10083 C40 steel pipe is a medium carbon steel similar to low carbon steel, except that the carbon content ranges from 0.30% to 0.60% and the manganese content ranges from 0.50% to 1.65%. The increased manganese content allows the medium carbon steel pipe to be used in the quenched and tempered conditions, and the strength and toughness are improved after heat treatment.
C40 EN 10083 seamless pipes are available with flat, beveled and threaded ends. These pipes can be formed into a range of cross-sections to meet different project requirements. EN 10083 C40 medium carbon steel pipes are mainly used in bridge construction frames, gas and oil transportation and water treatment plant piping systems.
