API 5L GR.A steel pipe has a low carbon content and is easy to weld, making it ideal for manufacturing pipe fittings and other pipeline components. It can be applied to seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipeline line pipes. In addition, although API 5L GR.A cannot be used in high-pressure pipeline systems, it can be applied to low-pressure work, such as water pipelines.
API 5L A-grade pipeline line pipe is the highest grade of steel that can be used for this application. Steels with higher carbon content are divided into Grade B, X42, X46, X52, X56, X60, X65, X70 and X80.
