The minimum yield strength of API 5L X46 pipe is approximately 317 MPA. These grades of pipe have chemical and mechanical properties superior to API 5L X42 grade pipe. The current API 5L X46 steel pipes are all controllable micro-alloyed carbon manganese steel. Microalloying elements mainly include Nb, V, Ti, etc., and the total content of microalloying elements does not exceed 0.15%.
API 5L X46 carbon steel pipe has excellent corrosion resistance, especially when exposed to acids. They effectively prevent damage caused by H2S reacting with water and other liquids.
