API 5L L360 Carbon steel pipeline Product Description
API 5L L360 is an important pipe material in the oil and gas field, designed to withstand the corrosion and wear of oil and gas passing through these pipelines. API 5L L360 covers two forms, seamless and welded, divided into two categories, PSL 1 and PSL 2, and is strictly manufactured in accordance with API 5L standards. API 5L L360 carbon steel pipe is composed of the chemical composition of carbon, silicon, sulfur, manganese, phosphorus, niobium, vanadium and titanium. Therefore, API 5L L360 high yield pipe has excellent mechanical properties, with a minimum yield strength of 360 MPa, a tensile strength of 460 MPa, and an elongation of 21%. It can withstand high pressure and complex stresses to ensure the stability of the pipe structure. In terms of physical properties, API 5L L360 pipe has a density of 7850 kg/m³ and a melting point of 1420-1460°C.

Oil and gas transportation trunk line: API 5L L360 oil and gas pipelines are ideal for long-distance oil and gas transportation pipelines on land and at sea due to their high strength and corrosion resistance, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of oil and gas resources from the mining site to the processing site or storage facility.
Offshore platform construction: API 5L L360 marine pipelines are used to build various pipeline networks of offshore platforms, including crude oil, natural gas transmission pipelines, water injection and gas injection pipelines, etc., to withstand harsh marine environments and ensure the normal operation of the platform.
Oil and gas field exploration and production: API 5L L360 high-strength pipes have good mechanical properties in drilling operations and can withstand complex stresses and high-pressure environments during drilling; in oil and gas field gathering and transportation systems, they can stably collect and transmit oil and gas resources.
Refining and chemical industry: API 5L L360 acid service pipes have good corrosion resistance and can effectively resist corrosion. Therefore, they are responsible for the transportation of crude oil, refined oil and various chemical raw materials in refineries to ensure the continuity and stability of the production process.
API 5L L360 Related test requirements
Hydrostatic test: The pipe needs to be subjected to a hydrostatic test, which requires no leakage through the weld or pipe body. If the pipe section used has been successfully tested, the connector does not need to be hydrostatically tested.
Bend test: No cracks should appear on any part of the test piece, and no holes should be opened in the weld.
CVN impact test: Many PSL2 pipe sizes and grades require CVN impact testing. Seamless pipes are tested in the body, and welded pipes should be tested in the body, pipe welds and heat affected zone (HAZ). Specific requirements such as absorbed energy values can be found in the full API 5L specification.
