Strictly screen raw materials: Select steel with reliable quality and in compliance with API 5L standards to ensure that its chemical composition and mechanical properties meet the requirements of X52 pipelines, and ensure the basic quality of pipelines from the source.
Strengthen the control of PSL2 pipeline materials: If PSL2-level X52 pipelines are used, take advantage of its stricter control of chemical composition to improve the weldability of the material, enhance its ability to resist various forms of corrosion and cracking, and better adapt to the needs of corrosive environments or transporting corrosive fluids.
Rationally design the pipeline system: According to the properties, pressure, temperature and other parameters of the conveying medium, as well as the use environment of the pipeline, scientific and reasonable design is carried out. For example, in areas prone to ground movement or offshore applications, PSL2 pipes are preferred to use their higher strength level and fracture toughness to resist external force damage and reduce the risk of brittle fracture.
Welding process: Ensure that welding personnel have professional qualifications, operate strictly in accordance with welding process regulations, ensure weld quality, prevent welding defects, and improve the overall strength and sealing of the pipeline. For PSL2 pipelines, more attention should be paid to quality control during the welding process because it has higher requirements for pipeline performance.
Installation accuracy: Ensure the installation accuracy of the pipeline, avoid excessive stress concentration during the installation process, and reduce the risk of pipeline damage caused by improper installation.
Anti-corrosion treatment: Take appropriate anti-corrosion measures according to the use environment of the pipeline, such as coating anti-corrosion, cathodic protection, etc., to extend the service life of the pipeline and reduce the impact of corrosion on the safety and integrity of the pipeline.
Regular inspection:
Non-destructive testing: Use non-destructive testing technologies such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and magnetic particle testing to conduct regular comprehensive inspections of the pipeline to promptly detect defects inside and on the surface of the pipeline, such as cracks, pores, inclusions, etc. For PSL2 pipelines, due to their stricter quality control requirements, the frequency and accuracy of inspections can be appropriately increased.
Physical and chemical performance testing: Regularly conduct physical and chemical performance tests on pipeline materials, including tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, chemical composition and other indicators, to ensure that the performance of pipeline materials always meets the requirements.
Appearance inspection: Regularly inspect the appearance of the pipeline to check for signs of corrosion, wear, deformation, etc., and promptly detect and deal with potential problems.
