ASTM A209 Steel Alloy Pipe Heat Treatment
Heat treatment is essential to improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of pipes. For heat-finished pipe, heat treatment should be performed at 1200°F (650°C) or higher to ensure the pipe's high-temperature strength and stability. Cold finished tubes shall be heat treated after final cold finishing or supplied in fully annealed, isothermal annealed or normalized tempered condition. If supplied in normalized and tempered conditions, the minimum tempering temperature shall be 1200°F (650°C).
