EN 10216-5 stainless steel pipes are composed of carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, 18% chromium, 5% nickel and nitrogen. The pipe is also called X2CrNiMOSil8-5-3 or 1.4424. The chemical composition of EN 10216-5 stainless steel seamless pipe with high chromium and nickel components makes the material resistant to oxidation, corrosion and acid. .
EN10216-5 seamless pipes are resistant to chloride corrosion and can endure high temperatures and oxidation. They are processed under welding or cold drawing to make them more corrosion resistant. Therefore EN10216-5 corrosion resistant pipes are mainly used in chemical, oil, gas, water industries.
