The material of 16mn straight seam welded pipe is low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a carbon content of 0.1%-0.25%, and the main alloying elements manganese, silicon, vanadium, niobium and titanium are added. 16mn is the most widely used low alloy steel in China.
There are two production processes for 16mn straight seam welded pipe: (1) high-frequency resistance welding 16mn straight seam welded pipe, (2) double-sided submerged arc welding 16mn straight seam welded pipe. The core process of 16mn straight seam welded pipe production is welding, especially high-quality oil and gas steel pipes, which have high quality requirements and large welding volume. Therefore, it is required to ensure excellent welding quality while improving welding efficiency as much as possible. The submerged arc welding process mainly produces large-diameter, thick-walled straight seam welded pipes, while the high-frequency resistance welding process mainly produces small-diameter thin-walled straight seam welded pipes. The appearance dimensions of high-frequency welded pipes are more precise than those of submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipes. It is widely used in steel structures, piling, fluid transportation, long-distance pipelines, etc.
