J55 is a casing steel grade defined by API (American Petroleum Institute) for oil drilling purposes, classified as high-quality carbon structural steel. Its domestic equivalent steel grade falls under the DZ series.
This casing is primarily used to support wellbore walls, isolate formation pressures, and transport oil and gas, making it widely applicable in oil wells, gas wells, geothermal wells, and other scenarios. Its outer diameter specifications range from 139.7 to 244.5 mm, with wall thickness between 7.72 and 11.05 mm. Lengths are categorized into three types: R-1 (4.88–7.62 m), R-2 (7.62–10.36 m), and R-3 (over 10.36 m).
