According to the provisions of API SPEC 5L, transmission steel pipes are divided into two product levels, PLS1 and PLS2, and different technical conditions are stipulated for these two types of products. The main difference is that compared with PLS1 and PLS2 levels, strength requirements are stipulated for carbon equivalent, fracture toughness, maximum yield strength and maximum tensile strength. The control of harmful elements such as sulfur and phosphorus is also more stringent: non-destructive testing of seamless pipes has become a mandatory requirement. The content that must be filled in the warranty and traceability after the test are completed have become mandatory requirements.
In the ISO3183 oil and gas transmission steel pipe standard, steel pipes are divided into three parts, A, B, and C, according to the differences in quality requirements, also known as A, B, and C three-level requirements.
The main difference is that in the ISO3183-1 A-level standard requirements, basic quality requirements equivalent to those stipulated in API SPEC 5L are formulated, and these main quality requirements are universal. In addition to the basic requirements, ISO3183-2 Class B standard also adds requirements on toughness and non-destructive testing. Some special uses, such as acidic environments, marine conditions and low temperature conditions, have very strict requirements on the quality and testing of seamless steel pipes, which are mainly reflected in ISO3183-3 Class C standard requirements.
