P110 is a core steel grade material for seamless steel pipes used in the oil and gas industry. It belongs to the API 5CT standard specification system and is mainly used in the manufacture of casing for oil well drilling and oil and gas transportation. Compared with conventional steel grades such as J55 and N80, P110 material has higher yield strength and tensile strength, enabling it to withstand the high pressure, high temperature, and complex geological stresses of deep and ultra-deep wells. It also exhibits excellent structural stability under corrosive environments and extrusion conditions, making it one of the preferred materials for high-end oil and gas extraction projects. Its core characteristics are high strength, high toughness, and good sealing performance, which effectively reduces the risk of oil well casing damage and ensures the continuity and safety of oil and gas extraction.
Chemical Composition of P110 Steel Grade According to API 5CT Standard
According to the authoritative data of API 5CT standard, the chemical composition of P110 material must be strictly controlled within the following ranges:
carbon (C) ≤ 0.35%, manganese (Mn) ≤ 1.50%, chromium (Cr) ≤ 1.50%, molybdenum (Mo) ≤ 0.50%, and the impurity contents of phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) shall not exceed 0.030% respectively.
Precise chemical composition ratio is the basis for ensuring its high strength and corrosion resistance, and real-time monitoring through spectral analysis is required during the production process.

Mechanical Properties of P110 Steel Grade Oil Casing According to API 5CT Standard
The API 5CT standard clearly stipulates that the minimum yield strength of P110 oil casing is 758 MPa (110,000 PSI), with a maximum not exceeding 965 MPa (140,000 PSI), and the minimum tensile strength can reach 862 MPa (125,000 PSI). In addition, its elongation must meet ≥ 15%, and the hardness value shall not exceed 25 HRC, ensuring sufficient plasticity and fracture resistance under complex downhole stress conditions to avoid casing failure due to substandard mechanical properties.
Application Areas
P110 seamless steel pipes are mainly used in casing engineering for deep and ultra-deep oil and gas extraction, and are also suitable for high-pressure oil and gas transmission pipelines, geothermal well casing, and other applications. Their corrosion resistance is particularly outstanding in corrosive oil wells with high CO₂ content and high mineralization, significantly extending the service life of the casing.
