The ‌ribbed drill pipe‌ is manufactured based on smooth geological drill pipes by incorporating high-wear-resistant flat spiral blades through prestressed winding and fully automatic welding. The pipe body utilizes geological special alloy steel tubes, while the joints are made of 42CrMo high-quality alloy structural steel, produced via advanced manufacturing processes including high-pressure forming, vacuum quenching/tempering treatment, and friction welding.

The outer diameter of the ribs matches that of smooth drill pipes and complies with drill rig chuck specifications. With sufficient rib width and strength, it enables self-release functionality using standard drill rig chucks (like smooth drill pipes), making it suitable for drilling in harder formations.
