1. ERW steel pipe
ERW steel pipe is a general term for electric resistance welding steel pipes, Electric Resistance Welding, referred to as ERW. Resistance welded steel pipes are divided into two forms: AC welded steel pipes and DC welded steel pipes.
AC welding is divided into low frequency welding, medium frequency welding, ultra-medium frequency welding and high frequency welding according to the frequency. High frequency welding is mainly used for the production of thin-walled steel pipes or ordinary thick-walled steel pipes. High frequency welding is divided into contact welding and induction welding. DC welding is generally used for small-diameter steel pipes.

2. SAW steel pipe
SAW steel pipe is the full name of Submerged Arc Welding Steel Pipe. It is a steel pipe manufactured using submerged arc welding technology. The current density generated by this process is very high. The flux layer prevents the rapid dissipation of heat and concentrates it in the welding area. Submerged arc welding has the characteristics of high weld quality, high production efficiency, no arc light and little smoke. Submerged arc welding steel pipes are widely used in pressure vessels, pipe fittings manufacturing, beams and columns, low-pressure fluids, and steel structure projects.

It can be seen that ERW steel pipes can realize continuous assembly line operation in production, with high production efficiency and low production cost; while SAW steel pipes are processed from steel plates, with low production efficiency and high production cost. ERW pipes are suitable for small-diameter pipes, while SAW pipes can weld large-size pipes.
