What type of coating is used on pipelines

What type of coating is used on pipelines?

Fusion bond epoxy (FBE) powder systems are most commonly specified for pipeline coating projects. Powder coatings are used for pipeline projects because they're formulated to be stronger and tougher than traditional solvent-based coatings. In some cases, an abrasion-resistant overcoat (ARO) is also applied.

What are the different types of FBE coating?

FBE pipe have two kinds: One layer and two layers pipe. FBE Dual layers coated pipe is recommended to applied for the offshore pipelines and the pipelines systems that operated in the tough environments, it provides high performances on the impact resistance and flexibility.

What is the ISO standard for coatings?

In the ISO 12944 standard, coating systems are proposed based on expected exposure (corrosivity) and a required durability range.

What are the methods of coating?

Examples of coating techniques include blade coating, spray coating, painting, slot-die coating, curtain coating and slide coating. Spray coating methods have great potential for large scale production with less or no material wastage, compared to conventional methods such as spin coating methods.

What is the best industrial coating?

Epoxy Coatings
Epoxy coatings adhere well to many different surfaces and can withstand harsh conditions and abrasion. Compared to other coating materials, properly formulated epoxies are highly effective against high temperatures, being able to resist heat levels up to 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit.
