1. Third-party construction
After the pipeline application is approved, the local government may plan the construction of highways, product oil pipelines and other projects accordingly, causing multiple linear projects to interact with each other, manifested in close parallel arrangements, cross-crossings, and oil and gas pipelines laid in the same ditch. Since multiple projects belong to different construction units, on-site construction cannot be carried out simultaneously, and the safety standards for design, construction, and operation are not the same, resulting in insufficient safety distances, pipeline damage caused by excavation, and construction equipment and materials. The crushing and blasting of buried pipelines are the main causes of safety hazards in gas pipelines.
2. Hydraulic protection
Natural factors are also important factors affecting the safe operation of pipelines. Rainwater erosion caused by natural factors such as rainy seasons and typhoons can lead to the collapse of water conservation projects, insufficient pipeline burial depth, and even exposed pipelines. In addition, if the interval between construction processes is too long, protection measures will be relatively lagging behind and the construction quality will not meet the specifications, which will become one of the reasons for the failure of hydraulic protection.
3. Anchor and collect sand around sea pipes
Anchors and berths often occur in pipeline protected areas. During typhoons, the situation is even more serious when a large number of ships take shelter in the bay. At the same time, there is also the risk of anchoring and damaging sea pipes. The tidal range in the bay is large, and ships sit directly on the sea at low tide. The risks of pipelines are relatively high; sand extraction, dredging and dumping of dredged materials in protected areas may pose hidden dangers to the safe operation of pipelines.
