Stainless Steel 304H 304 Round Pipes
304L is a low-carbon version of 304 and does not require post-weld annealing. 304H Stainless Steel Round Pipe with high carbon content can be used at high temperatures. The austenitic structure also provides excellent toughness, which can be maintained even at low temperatures.
304 stainless steel round tubes can be intensively drawn without intermediate annealing. Therefore, it dominates the manufacturing of stamped and drawn stainless steel parts.
It performs well in various atmospheric environments and many corrosive media. At a certain temperature, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion may occur in a chloride environment, and stress corrosion cracking may occur when it exceeds 60°C. When used in drinking water, it can withstand chloride up to about 200 mg/l at room temperature without pitting corrosion. At 60°C, the chloride concentration drops to about 150 mg/l.

SUS 304H Pipes
There is generally no difference in corrosion resistance between 304 and 304L.
The temperature for intermittent use should not exceed 870°C, and the temperature for continuous use should not exceed 925°C, so that good antioxidant properties can be maintained. If subsequent resistance to corrosion by aqueous solutions is important, continuous use of 304 stainless steel in the 425-860°C range is not recommended. 304L stainless steel hollow tube resists carbide precipitation and can be heated to this temperature range.
304H high temperature stainless steel pipe has higher strength at high temperatures, so it is usually used in structural and pressure-bearing applications where the temperature is above 500°C to around 800°C. 304H steel pipe is susceptible to sensitization in the temperature range of 425-860°C, which is not a problem for high-temperature applications, but will reduce its resistance to aqueous solution corrosion.
