Stainless Steel 904L Round Pipe

904L stainless steel pipe is an austenitic grade stainless steel with lower carbon and higher resistance to stress and crevice corrosion cracking than AISI316 and AISI317 stainless steel grades. Due to the addition of copper, it has increased resistance to concentrations of phosphoric, sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. Due to its superiority to other 300 series austenitic steel grades, it is sometimes called super austenitic stainless steel.
904L acid-resistant steel pipe can also resist corrosion from chloride and seawater. 904L steel pipe is mainly used in the production and transportation of phosphoric acid and in environments containing concentrated phosphoric acid or phosphorus gas.
