The higher chromium and nickel content in A249 304N stainless steel pipe gives it better corrosion resistance than stainless steel 304 pipe, and due to the difference in nitrogen content, the tensile strength of A249 304N welded stainless steel is higher than similar stainless steel. This makes A249 304N straight seam welded steel pipe ideal for applications where strength and corrosion resistance are important, such as marine environments or manufacturing projects requiring high-strength materials.
A249 304NL stainless steel pipe has a lower carbon content that enhances performance at high temperatures and is easier to weld and form. It is more commonly used as boiler tubes.
