ASME SA53 Grade A ERW Pipe
ASTM A53 pipe (also known as ASME SA53 pipe) is suitable for mechanical and pressure applications, as well as for general use in steam, water, gas and air piping. It is suitable for welding as well as forming operations involving coiling, bending and flanging.
ASTM A53 Carbon Steel Pipe covers seamless and welded, black and hot-dip galvanized nominal (average) wall pipe for coiling, bending, flanging and other special purposes, and is suitable for welding. Continuous welded pipe is not suitable for flanging. The purpose of the pipe should be stated on the order.
A53 What is the difference between A and B?
The chemical composition of A53 steel pipe depends on the type and grade. The main difference between grades is the allowable percentage of carbon and manganese. Types S and E The manganese content in grade B is approximately 0.30% higher than the manganese content in grade A. They may also contain 0.05% more carbon.
