What is electric fusion welded pipe?
Electrofusion pipe fitting. Electrofusion welding employs fittings that are placed around the joint to be welded. Metal coils are implanted into the fittings, and electric current is run through the coils to generate heat and melt part of the pipes, forming a joint upon solidification.
There are two types of electrofusion welded pipes: induction welding and contact resistance welding. When welding steel pipes, the current frequency is 350~450kHZ. Induction welding can choose a lower frequency, but the minimum should not be less than 150kHZ; when welding non-ferrous metal pipes, the current frequency should not be lower than 450kHZ. The inductor and tube blank are equivalent to the primary and secondary coils of the transformer. When the inductor passes high-frequency current, an induced current is generated on the outer surface of the tube blank. A V-shaped loop is formed along the edge of the tube blank, which is called welding current, and does useful work; a shunt is formed along the surface of the tube blank, which is called circulating current, which only makes the tube The temperature rise of the billet causes heat loss, resulting in wasted work.
