API 5L X42 PSL1 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipes

The X42 seamless steel pipe is a PSL1 grade pipeline steel under the API 5L standard, featuring a minimum yield strength of 290 MPa (42 ksi) and notable mechanical performance advantages. Through micro-alloying design and controlled rolling and cooling processes, the material maintains excellent impact toughness at -20°C, with its Vickers hardness precisely controlled within the range of 220-250 HV. This ensures superior resistance to deformation even in complex geological conditions. Compared to standard carbon steel pipes, the X42 variant strictly limits sulfur content to below 0.015% and phosphorus content to no more than 0.025%, significantly enhancing its resistance to hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC).
