ASTM, JIS, GB, DIN, EN Hot-dip galvanizing involves immersing a cleaned and derusted steel pipe into molten zinc at approximately 600°C, resulting in a uniform zinc coating typically exceeding 50 microns in thickness. This process forms a dense zinc-iron alloy layer with exceptional corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for humid or saline environments.
In contrast, electro-galvanizing deposits a zinc coating onto the steel pipe surface through electrolytic reaction. While more cost-effective, this method offers slightly inferior corrosion protection compared to hot-dip galvanizing and is primarily used for indoor, dry environments.
