Gas welding. Use oxygen and natural gas and other fuel gases for welding, with high weld quality, can be used for most metal pipelines, and are easy to operate.
Arc welding. Use welding rods and arcs for melting welding, which can be used for steel pipe welding. It is simple to operate and has a fast welding speed, but the weld is prone to deformation. Common methods include manual arc welding, semi-automatic arc welding and automatic arc welding.
Resistance welding. Use the heat generated by the metal parts after power is turned on for welding. It is simple to operate, has high energy utilization and good weld quality. However, the source material needs to have a high resistivity. Commonly used for stainless steel pipes, etc.
Laser welding. Use a high-energy laser beam to heat melt the weld, with a fast welding speed and a small heat-affected zone. However, the equipment investment is large and the operating cost is high, and it is generally used for pipelines with high requirements.
Tungsten inert gas arc welding. The arc generated by the tungsten electrode under the protection of argon gas is used to heat the weld. It can be used for most metal pipes, especially high-alloy steel. The welding quality is high but the operation is complicated.
Plasma arc welding. The high-temperature arc generated by argon plasma is used for welding. The welding is deep and the welding quality is good, but the operation is complicated.
