API 5L X42 Line Pipe is a carbon steel pipe with very low carbon content. The two digits after the "X" indicate that the minimum yield strength of the pipe produced to this grade is 42,000 ksi. It has relatively higher mechanical strength compared to API 5L Grade B pipe, making it crack resistant. As industrial applications where higher strength pipes are required.
Applications of X42 low carbon pipe are used in petrochemical, sugar, boiler, pressure vessel and power generation industries. The material has ultra-low carbon properties and can be easily welded without the use of filler materials.
