A105 refers to a carbon steel material commonly used in valves, flanges, and other pipe fittings. This material has excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, making it widely used in various industrial piping systems.
The A105 globe valve is manufactured from A105 carbon steel forgings and is designed specifically for high-pressure and small-diameter pipelines.
Compared to cast steel materials (such as WCB), A105 utilizes a forging process, which reduces defects such as sand holes and pores, resulting in more reliable sealing. However, this method is more expensive and is commonly used in demanding applications such as natural gas and pressure regulators.
Key Features and Applications
- High-Pressure Resistance: Nominal pressure range is PN1.0-32.0 MPa (ANSI Class 150-2500), and temperature resistance ranges from -196°C to 700°C. The valve body is primarily forged, ensuring stable operation in high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
- Applications: Widely used in steel mills, petroleum, chemical, power, and boiler systems, it's ideal for shutting off or connecting media in pipelines, particularly in small-diameter (e.g., DN15-300) or high-pressure pipelines where leakage risk must be minimized.
- Performance Advantages: Low fluid resistance, with sealing surfaces available in carbide or chrome stainless steel for enhanced wear and corrosion resistance. However, it only supports full-on/full-off operation and is not suitable for flow control.
