What is the X52 PSL2 Charpy impact test CVN?

CVN impact test of PSL2 pipe (covering pipe body, weld and heat affected zone)
Test principle: V-notch impact test is to release a pendulum with a certain potential energy to impact a specimen with a V-notch and measure the energy absorbed when the specimen breaks. The greater the impact absorption energy, the better the toughness of the material.

‌Test steps‌:

‌Specimen preparation‌: According to relevant standards or customer requirements, standard-sized specimens are processed and prepared, and a V-notch is processed in the middle of the specimen. The size, shape, processing accuracy and notch depth of the specimen must meet the standard requirements.
‌Temperature control‌: Place the specimen in a constant temperature environment to reach the specified test temperature. Common temperatures include room temperature, low temperature and high temperature.
‌Install the specimen‌: Clamp the specimen on the impact tester to ensure that the notch of the specimen is aligned with the punch of the impact pendulum.
‌Impact test‌: Release the pendulum to impact the notch of the specimen and record the impact energy and absorbed energy values.
‌Data recording and processing‌: Record the height of the pendulum after impact, and calculate the energy change of the pendulum to obtain the impact energy absorbed by the sample. Calculate the impact toughness value based on the test data, and evaluate the results according to the standard requirements‌
