The material composition of A333 Gr.8 grade includes carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, nickel, chromium and molybdenum, etc. 9% nickel and 1% chromium must be added. In addition, A333 GR.8 seamless alloy pipe needs to be at 1025-1085°F. Stress-relief anneal for at least 2 hours at a temperature between (550-585°C), adding an additional hour for each additional inch.
The most notable feature of A333 Gr.8 alloy steel pipe is that it contains 9% nickel. Nickel is the most effective element in improving the low-temperature toughness of steel. Therefore, A333 Gr.8 carbon steel pipe has good toughness and high strength at low temperatures as low as -195°C. A333 Gr.8 nickel steel pipe is used in cryogenic equipment manufacturing, ultra-low temperature cold storage, and pipeline components for transporting liquefied gases such as liquefied petroleum gas.
