A249 TP310 high temperature steel tubes are made from a chromium-nickel alloy with the same strength as 304 grade tubes, but with higher corrosion and oxidation resistance. Some stainless steels experience a significant loss in tensile strength when exposed to high temperatures. However, the chemical composition of A249 TP310 stainless steel high temperature tubes remains stable with increasing temperature, so no strength loss is observed.
As a result, A249 TP310 superheater tubes have excellent resistance to; oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres and other forms of hot corrosion, with a maximum dry air service temperature of 1100ºC.
