ERW pipe flaw detection methods include online non-destructive testing, metallographic inspection, destructive testing, and hydraulic testing.
Online non-destructive testing is to rotate the detection arm of the flaw detection station in the straight seam welded pipe production line, observe the position of the weld through the camera, and use the operating rod to adjust the front and rear position of the probe so that the weld coincides with the laser, and save the parameters; metallographic inspection is to inspect the welding The metallographic microstructure of the seam; the destructive test includes the flattening test and the expansion test; the hydraulic test is to fill the pipe body with water and gradually apply pressure to the pressure required by the relevant standards. After the pressure is stabilized for a period of time, the pipe body weld is visually inspected. Are there any leaks anywhere?
Selection principles for surface non-destructive testing: For steel pipes made of ferromagnetic materials, magnetic particle testing should be used. For steel pipes made of non-ferromagnetic materials, the penetration test should be selected. For welded joints that are prone to delayed cracking, surface non-destructive inspection should be performed after the welding has cooled for a certain period of time. For welded joints prone to cracks, a surface non-destructive inspection should be carried out after welding and heat treatment.
