The chromium element in 309S easily forms a CR20 oxide film at high temperature. This is the main reason why 309S has good resistance to high-temperature oxidation.
High temperature performance: 310S stainless steel has better high temperature resistance and can be used for a long time in high temperature environment, with the maximum use temperature reaching 1100℃; 309S stainless steel has moderate high temperature resistance, with the maximum use temperature being about 1000℃.
Corrosion resistance: 310S stainless steel has good corrosion resistance to oxidizing, reducing and neutral gases, and is also resistant to heat and strong acid and alkaline environments; 309S stainless steel has good high temperature corrosion resistance, especially for strong acids such as sulfuric acid and nitric acid.
