API 5CT K55 oilfield casing is very similar to J55 but has higher ultimate tensile strength than J55 steel and better resistance to mechanical and thermal fatigue and cracking. For hot production wells, it is appropriate to use API 5CT K55 thick wall casing instead of J55 casing. The former has better resistance to thermal fatigue than the latter.
API 5CT K55 natural gas casing is used to transport crude oil or natural gas from source rock to surface wellhead. Inside the pipe is a sucker rod which is used to pump oil and gas.
