A213 TP347 stainless steel pipes have a distinct advantage in high temperature environments where the temperature falls within the range of chromium carbide precipitation. Because the addition of niobium produces a stable stainless steel that eliminates carbide precipitation and thus eliminates intergranular corrosion of A213 TP347 high temperature steel pipes.
A213 TP347 austenitic chromium steel pipes are used for parts that are manufactured by welding and cannot be subsequently annealed. These types are also used for parts that are intermittently heated and cooled to temperatures between 800°F and 1600°F.
