1.4878 steel pipe is a stainless steel containing 17% to 19% chromium and 10.5% to 13% nickel. It has excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, as well as good processing and welding properties. Commonly used in the manufacture of food processing equipment, medical devices, etc.
The presence of manganese can increase the strength and hardness of 1.4878 stainless steel pipe, but will reduce its ductility. The physical properties have an important impact on the processing, manufacturing and application of 1.4878. In 1.4878, the C content is generally below 0.08% to avoid brittle fracture.
The chemical composition of 1.4878 Stainless Steel Hollow Pipe is: Chromium (Cr): 12.0-14.0%, Carbon (C): 0.15-0.40%, Silicon (Si): ≤1.0%, Manganese (Mn): ≤1.0%, Phosphorus ( P): ≤0.04%, sulfur (S): ≤0.03%. The higher the Cr content, but as the Cr content increases, the hardness and strength of the 1.4878 seamless steel pipe will also increase.
