Api 5l Welded Pipe
API 5L welded pipes are mainly divided into two types: long welded pipes and spiral welded pipes. Both types of pipes are welded steel pipes used to transport fluids such as oil and natural gas.

API 5L Grade B steel pipe This is a grade in the API 5L standard. It is usually manufactured using the submerged arc welding (LSAW) process. This process uses long bead arc welding that runs along the length of the pipe. Grade B carbon steel pipe has high strength and good corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a variety of oil and gas applications.
API 5L X42, X52 Steel Pipe These are another grade in the API 5L standard and are usually manufactured using the Spiral Submerged Arc Welding (SSAW) process. This process is to roll the steel plate into a tube shape and perform spiral submerged arc welding. The weld is spiral-shaped and follows the spiral direction of the pipe. X42 and X52 pipes are available in different strengths and chemical compositions and are suitable for different temperature and pressure conditions.

The inspection and testing of API welded pipes include appearance quality, dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties and non-destructive testing.The welds should be smooth and free of defects such as welding slag, cracks, and incomplete penetration. Check whether the length, outer diameter, curvature and other dimensions of the welded pipe meet the requirements. Conduct tensile, bending, impact and other tests to detect the strength, toughness and other mechanical properties of the welded pipe. Use ultrasonic, ray and other methods to conduct non-destructive testing of welds to check whether there are cracks, pores and other defects inside the welds.
