BS1139 Galvanized Scaffolding Steel Pipe
The BS1139 galvanized scaffolding standard is a commonly used standard in the UK. The standard stipulates the use of internal and external hot-dip galvanizing processes. The outer diameter of the steel pipe is 48.3mm and the wall thickness is 4.0mm. Carbon, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen and other elements are strictly analyzed and controlled according to BS EN ISO standards.
BS 1139 galvanized steel pipe has clear requirements for the chemical composition of carbon, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen and other elements:
Carbon content does not exceed 0.20%.
Silicon content does not exceed 0.30%.
Phosphorus content does not exceed 0.05%.
Sulfur content does not exceed 0.05%.
Nitrogen content does not exceed 0.009%.
For hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, the silicon content cannot exceed 0.05%.
In addition, the mechanical properties of BS1139 sch40 gi steel pipe include tensile strength, yield point and elongation. According to the BS1139 standard, the tensile strength (R m) should not be less than 340 N/mm2, the yield point (R eH) should not be greater than 480 N/mm2, and the elongation (A) should not be less than 235 N/mm2.
