What is the difference between ASTM A335 P11 and P12?
The difference between P11 and P12 pipe is the chemical composition. P11 contains up to 1.25% chromium and up to 45% molybdenum, while the P12 grade contains up to 1% molybdenum in its composition. Resulting in varying corrosion resistance and hardness of ASTM A335 P12 seamless pipe.
A335 P12 steel alloy pipe is a high-temperature chromium-molybdenum alloy steel for boilers. The grade of the steel in GB5310-2008 "Seamless Steel Pipe for High-Pressure Boilers" is 15CrMoG. The typical composition is 1Cr-0.5Mo.
