What is straight seam welded pipe?
Straight seam pipe is a steel pipe with a straight weld seam parallel to the longitudinal direction of the steel pipe. It is also called a straight seam steel pipe. It is formed by bending a steel plate or strip and then welding the connection points. Straight seam tube has a simple production process, uniform wall thickness, high production efficiency, low cost, and flexible specification adjustment to meet the requirements of different pipe diameters. It has developed rapidly and is often used in various industrial production and urban pipeline construction.
According to the production process of straight seam steel pipes, they can be divided into two types: high-frequency straight seam steel pipes and submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipes:
1. Submerged arc welding
First, ultrasonic inspection of the entire steel plate is carried out, and then the two edge surfaces of the steel plate are double-sided milled through a milling machine. The pre-bending machine equipment is used to pre-bend the edge of the plate so that the edge of the plate has a curvature that meets the requirements. After that, the JCO forming machine is used to pre-bend the steel plate, and half of the steel plate is pressed into a J shape. After stamping, the other half is pressed into a C shape, and finally an open O shape is formed.
2. High frequency welding
High-frequency welding is based on the eddy current heat flow effect and skin effect in the conductor based on the principles of AC charge and electromagnetic induction. The edge steel of the weld is heated to a molten state, and then the roller extrusion process is used to achieve the intergranular combination of the butt weld, thereby achieving Welding purposes.

Straight Welded Pipe

Straight seam welded pipe packaging and transportation
Pipes are usually first bundled together and then wrapped in plastic tape. This method ensures that the pipe remains tidy during transportation and protects it from external damage. On the basis of plastic straps, steel straps can be added for reinforcement. This helps provide greater support and protection, especially with larger or longer longitudinally welded pipes. Use plastic film or stretch film to completely seal the pipe to prevent dust, moisture or other contaminants from entering. This type of packaging also helps prevent rust. For pipes that are sensitive to external impacts, cushioning materials such as foam pads or air bags can be added to the packaging to provide additional protection.
